Amer Fakhoury Foundation Protest and December Update

This holiday season, families gathered in DC, not to celebrate, but to raise awareness for the plight of their loved ones; hostages illegally detained overseas.

On December 14th, the Amer Fakhoury Foundation hosted a protest in front of the White House. They were joined by the families of Airan Berry and Luke Denman, along with several other families of detainees, including those of the Citgo6.

It was an emotional time for all involved as they pled their case to any who would listen, hoping their message would reach the US government.

From the Amer Fakhoury Foundation Twitter:

After the protest, many of those in attendance were visited by Roger Carstens, Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs and top hostage negotiator. A week prior, Carstens also visited Venezuela directly, where detainees Luke, Airan, and the Citgo6 are imprisoned. We received word that Carstens was very impressed with the character of Luke and Airan, who told Carstens that if there was any chance to release any American hostages, it should be those of the Citgo6, who have been held far longer and deserve to come home to their families.

We pray that this message resonates with those in power and helps facilitate a speedy release for all hostages being illegally held so far from home.

This Christmas we ask that you keep these men and their families in your prayers. They do not get to come home and instead waste away in a foreign prison. It is not just an emotional burden, but an financial one, that these families also carry as they wait to hear any word about why their loved ones are being kept from them.

Your support helps keep Airan and Luke in supply of things like clothes, food, books, and awareness for their plight, as well as other Americans illegally held hostage overseas. Consider donating here: Support Page
